Young-sil Pyo
표영실(b. 1974, 한국)은 1997년 덕성여자대학교 예술대학 서양화과를 졸업하고 1999년 동 대학원에서 석사를 마쳤다. 개인의 내면에서 일어나는 다양한 감정들과 내밀한 심정들에 관심의 시선을 두고 섬세하고 세밀한 필치로 눈에 보이지 않는 그 무엇에 형태를 부여하는 작업을 진행하고 있다.
1999년 관훈 갤러리 개인전을 시작으로 2020년 에이라운지(잠깐 내려앉은 온기에 살갗이 한겹 녹아내린다), 2021년 드로잉 룸(당신은 없다), 2022년 누크갤러리(공기) 등 현재까지 15회의 개인전을 열었고 다수의 기획 단체전에 참여했다. 2012년부터 2014년까지 스튜디오 화이트블럭 레지던시(파주)에 참여했다.
Young-sil Pyo(b. 1974, Korea) graduated from Duksung Women’s University’s Department of Painting in 1997 and completed her MFA at the same graduate school in 1999. A keen observer of the emotional life of the inner self, Pyo’s drawings and paintings give shapes to the ineffable with finely drawn strokes.
Starting with her first solo exhibition at Kwanhoon Gallery in 1999, She has held 15 solo exhibitions including <Softening in the Moment of Warmth> (A-Lounge, 2020), <Your absence> (Drawing Room, 2021), <In the Air> (Nook Gallery, 2022), as well as contributed works to a number of group exhibitions. She participated in the Studio WhiteBlock Residency in Paju from 2012 to 2014.
