고 등 어 Mackerel safranski
고등어(b. 1984)는 신체 이미지에서 발생하는 내러티브를 탐구하며 이것이 재현될 때 보이지 않는 부분을 드러내는 방식에 대해 관심이 있다. 최근에는 직관적으로 발생하는 기억의 물성을 연구하며 회화와 드로잉, 무빙 이미지를 통해 탐구하고 있다. 개인전으로는 <The Hours, 3 Lights>(에이라운지 갤러리, 2021), <살갗의 사건>(소마미술관 드로잉센터,2017)등이 있었고 <하루하루 탈출한다, 서울미디어시티 비엔날레>(서울시립미술관,2021), <칸 퍼레이드 :깨무는 칸들>(탈영역 우정국,2018), <플립북>(일민미술관,2018)등 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다.
Mackerel Safranski(b. 1984) is interested in exploring the narratives that arise from body images and how they reveal the invisible when reproduced. Recently, she has been investigating the materiality of intuitive memories through painting, drawing, and moving images.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions including <The Hours, 3 Lights> (A-Lounge Gallery, 2021), <Accidents of Flesh> (Soma Drawing Center, 2017) <11th Seoul Mediacity Biennale Once escape a time> (Seoul Museum of Art, 2021), <Khan Parade> (Ujeongguk, 2018) and <Flip book> (Ilmin Museum, 2018).
이 미 정 Mijung Lee
이미정(b. 1988)은 시대적으로 합의된 가치관과 공통된 미감이 담긴 전형의 이미지들을 관찰하고, 이를 ‘조립식 회화’로 만들어 왔다. 동시에 공간 지각적 상상을 이끄는 작업을 전개하며, ‘조립’의 다양한 가능성에 대한 탐구를 지속하고 있다.
홍익대학교 도예유리과, 회화과를 졸업했다. 개인전으로 <SUITE>(G Gallery, 2022), <SANDWICH TIMES>(송은아트큐브, 2020), <The Gold Terrace>(아트딜라이트, 2018), <위로는 셀프>(OCI미술관 )등을 개최 했으며, <Summer Love>(송은, 2022), <새일꾼 1948-2020>(일민미술관, 2020), <IN_D_EX : 인덱스>(서울시립미술관, 2018) 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여했다.
Mijung Lee(b. 1988) observes archetypal images that contain the agreed-upon values and common sense of beauty at the time to create 'preassembled paintings' from them. At the same time, she continues to explore the various possibilities of 'assembly' by developing works that guide the spatial and perceptual imagination.
Mijung Lee graduated from Hongik University Department of Painting in Fine Arts. She has held solo exhibitions such as <SUITE> (G Gallery, 2022), <SANDWICH TIMES> (SongEun Art Cube, 2020), <The Gold Terrace> (Art Delight, 2018), and <Consolation is Self-service> (OCI Museum), and has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as <Summer Love> (SongEun, 2022), <New Worker 1948-2020> (Ilmin Museum, 2020), and <IN_D_EX> (Seoul Museum of Art, 2018).
표 영 실 Young-sil Pyo
표영실은 1997년 덕성여자대학교 예술대학 서양화과를 졸업하고 1999년 동 대학원에서 석사를 마쳤다. 개인의 내면에서 일어나는 다양한 감정들과 내밀한 심정들에 관심의 시선을 두고 섬세하고 세밀한 필치로 눈에 보이지 않는 그 무엇에 형태를 부여하는 작업을 진행하고 있다.
1999년 관훈 갤러리 개인전을 시작으로 2020년 에이라운지(잠깐 내려앉은 온기에 살갗이 한겹 녹아내린다), 2021년 드로잉 룸(당신은 없다), 2022년 누크갤러리(공기) 등 현재까지 15회의 개인전을 열었고 다수의 기획 단체전에 참여했다. 2012년부터 2014년까지 스튜디오 화이트블럭 레지던시(파주)에 참여했다.
Young-sil Pyo(b. 1974) graduated from Duksung Women’s University’s Department of Painting in 1997 and completed her MFA at the same graduate school in 1999. A keen observer of the emotional life of the inner self, Pyo’s drawings and paintings give shapes to the ineffable with finely drawn strokes.
Starting with her first solo exhibition at Kwanhoon Gallery in 1999, She has held 15 solo exhibitions including <Softening in the Moment of Warmth> (A-Lounge, 2020), <Your absence> (Drawing Room, 2021), <In the Air> (Nook Gallery, 2022), as well as contributed works to a number of group exhibitions. She participated in the Studio WhiteBlock Residency in Paju from 2012 to 2014.
허 윤 희 Yun-hee Huh
허윤희(b. 1968)는 이화여자대학교 미술대학 서양화과와 독일 브레멘예술대학교에서 회화를 공부하였다. 목탄으로 종이와 벽에 드로잉을 하고 2008년부터 산책길에서 만난 나뭇잎을 가져와서 똑같이 그리고 짧은 글을 곁들여 <나뭇잎 일기>를 써오고 있다. 그 드로잉을 모아 <나뭇잎 일기>라는 제목의 책을 출간했다.(궁리출판사, 2018)
삶을 뒤돌아보고 자연과 인간, 존재에 대한 생각을 드로잉과 퍼포먼스, 회화로 표현하고 있다. 영은미술관, 수애뇨339, 국립세종수목원 등 국내외에서 26회의 개인전을 열었고 국립현대미술관, 금호미술관, 독일 베를린의 쿨투어팔라스트베딩 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다. 뉴욕드로잉센터에 작품이 소장되어있다.
Yun-hee Huh(b. 1968) studied Painting at Ewha Women’s University and Hochschule für Künste Bremen(University of the Arts Bremen). She makes charcoal drawings on papers and walls, and has been working on <Leaf Journal> since 2008. Huh brings a leaf with her everyday while taking a stroll and makes a realistic drawing of the leaf, and then writes a short paragraph to go along with the drawing. She published a book, <Leaf Journal>, with the drawings in 2018.
Huh looks back to her past and addresses her opinions on nature, human, and existence through drawing, performance, and painting. She has held twenty-six solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions world-wide. Her work is collected at The Drawing Center in New York.
